John Opsahl’s Credentials and Experience
John is a certified public accountant (CPA) with a degree in accounting from DePaul University.
With nearly 40 years of controllership, audit, tax, and managerial accounting experience, John is highly qualified to serve your business or personal accounting needs.
What’s more, John was an accounting consultant and controller at Accenture, a global technology and human ingenuity company, for more than two decades. There, his former coworkers describe him as approachable, patient, and engaging.
Over his career as a CPA, he has applied accounting and financial best practices for many different types of businesses and industries.

John Opsahl is a member of both the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society. Additionally, his accounting firm is part of the Lake Area Zurich Chamber of Commerce.
On a Personal Note
John grew up in River Grove, IL. Today, he and his wife Ginny live in Deer Park, IL, and have raised a son and a daughter. They attend a local church. Additionally, John fights hunger and gives people hope at Food for Friends. He helped establish the not-for-profit organization and has served on the board of directors for more than 20 years. Food for Friends is a Chicago-based Christian organization that offers hands-on opportunities to provide food to those in need.
